GENERAL FINANCIAL
One goal of Hearts of the Father Outreach is to maximize the amount
of funding allocated to meet the needs of children. 90% of designated
child sponsorship is applied directly for helping children. The
remaining 10% is used for administrative costs either in the U.S.
or on the local level.
Designated funds are used in their entirety for the projects specified.
Undesignated funds may be used either for current or new projects,
for supplementing sponsorship programs, or for administrative costs.
Support comes from individuals, churches, foundations, and businesses
as general support or through child sponsorship and short-term missions
projects.
No board members in the U.S. or abroad are paid. All board members
serve voluntarily. Some incidental expenses may be reimbursed, especially
for board members in foreign countries. National administrators,
houseparents, and associated staff are paid salaries, which are
proposed by the local boards and subject to approval by the HFO-USA
board. Staff members in the United States are not currently paid
by HFO. They serve in a volunteer capacity or raise their own support
(“home based” missionaries).
Office space for HFO-USA is donated by Aquatic Designs, Inc. Aquatic
Designs, Inc. also donates the services of two employees to HFO-USA
on a part time basis at no charge to the ministry, as well as donating
a minimum of 10% of the yearly corporate profits to the ministry.
Year-end accounting and federal and state filings are handled
by the office of Thomas J. Major, Certified Public Accountants,
80 Maple Street, Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Annual reports
are on file with Attorneys General of both Massachusetts and New
York.
