General Financial Information of Hearts of the Father
One goal of Hearts of the Father Outreach is to maximize the amount of funding allocated to meet the needs of children. 90% of designated child sponsorship is applied directly for helping children. The remaining 10% is used for administrative costs either in the U.S. or on the local level.Designated donations are used in their entirety for the projects specified. Undesignated donations are put in the general fund and may be used either for current or new projects, for supplementing sponsorship programs, or for administrative costs. Support comes from individuals, churches, foundations, and businesses for the general fund, child sponsorship, project support, and short-term missions trips.
No board members in the U.S. or abroad are paid. All board members serve voluntarily. Some incidental expenses may be reimbursed, especially for board members in foreign countries. National administrators, houseparents, and associated staff are paid salaries, which are proposed by the local boards and subject to approval by the HFO-USA board. Staff members in the United States are not currently paid by HFO. They serve in a volunteer capacity or raise their own support (“home based” missionaries).
Office space for HFO-USA is donated by Aquatic Designs, Inc., of Sheffield, MA. Aquatic Designs, Inc. also donates the services of two employees to HFO-USA on a part time basis at no charge to the ministry, as well as donating a percentage of the yearly corporate profits to the ministry.
