HFO operates a home of refuge for twenty-four orphans in southern India. The physical home is rented. Five infant girls have been rescued in the past eighteen months -- they had been abandoned and left to die. One of the infants was discovered by our administrator in an open field among some thorn bushes. The infants are placed with foster families that will provide them with the extensive care they need until they are old enough to be cared for at the home.
