John Moritz is one of three recognized for humanitarian service. The awards ceremony was held at Suffield Academy, Suffield, CT, Monday, April 14. Read John's speech to Suffield Academy Alumni and Students.
John Moritz traveled to Uganda for meetings with the Board members and staff of the Tororo and Kampala programs. It was also the official start of the new program in Kaliro. Visiting with the children and “foster” families is always a highlight. The children and the families are blessed and it is gratifying to see first hand the fruit of everyone’s efforts. A team of nine from the USA worked at the home making improvements including constructing and erecting a basketball hoop, spending time with the children and supporting the staff. Along with a team of Ghanaian nationals, they participated in outreaches to the surrounding area. One team member led a dental clinic outreach for the third year in a row. Other team members participated in a medical clinic outreach done by a team of Ghanaian doctors and nurses for Old Ningo Town sponsored by HFO. (details in the Spring newsletter in May)
