Tororo, Uganda Program

In August of 1999, HFO developed a program of sponsoring orphans and destitute children in the homes of Christian “foster families” in Tororo, Eastern Uganda. Currently, twenty foster families care for more than 60 orphans. A local board of directors and a full-time administrator oversee the program. Part of the program’s strength is in the spiritual, marriage and child-raising training that the foster parents go through as part of their preparation.
